Eight is Great!

Whoa! We have an eight year old in the house....yikes! But what an eight year old. Gracie is turning out to be one special girl. She is our little mother around the house. She has a very tender heart, especially for people or animals in distress. She even gets mad when I kill the ants in our house. She is our typical oldest child and very responsible. She gets up on her own every morning and practices piano before school without me asking and reads her scriptures every night in bed without me reminding her. She is a great older sister, too. Our lives are just plain better with Gracie around. We are so proud of you Gracie and love you dearly!

Gracie searched online for the PERFECT cake for days, and this is what she finally requested for me to make. It was a challenge, for sure!

Gracie got roller blades from Grandma and Grandpa Shaw

Another milestone of turning eight in our family is getting your ears pierced.

And the best part of being eight is she finally got baptized! It was such an amazing thing for me to watch. It reminded me of the feeling that is there when your child is born.....that heavenly glimpse of how special they are and how much the Lord loves them. What a great day!

Our little family

There were so many wonderful family members who got up at the crack of dawn to be here for the 9:00 am baptism. We loved having everyone with us on our special day.
